"But that show is epic!"

As much as I'm loathe to admit that any performance after 1977 is even listenable by today's standards, I must admit that Giants Stadium show is pretty good.

But epic?

No stadium show from 1978 is "epic" by any long stretch of anyone's imagination!

If shows such as 2/28/69, 2/13/70, 4/29/71, 8/27/72, etc etc are genuine epic performances, how could 9/2/78 possibly be considered an epic show?

I think I'm starting to understand your perspective, Cliffster... most of the shows you consider excellent are truly excellent all the way through.

This is a pretty nice show but various vocal and instrumental flubs in Fire made me cringe this afternoon. Lazy Lightning > Supplication is super nice though and Stagger Lee has some lyric fumbles but the solo is sweet.

"perspective" being the operative word, thank you!

I personally consider a three-star show to be quite good. And even a show garnering only two stars will still provide enjoyment to heads whose taste it might suit. There just has to be some spread in the ratings of the best shows, and those that are simply good...

+1

9/2 is a decent show. Though this is coming from a guy who thinks he might like 8/30 better than 7/8.
